The Judiciary Crisis – The case for and against restoration

I feel that Pakistan now has a government crisis that needs to be resolved. It doesn’t appear to have a government in place. The country is literally on auto-pilot and heading for a crash. The stock market has already crashed.

As far as judiciary issue is concerned, I am all for restoring all but the political ones. Judges needs to be above partisanship but they have become party in the whole crisis. Those who maintained their defiance without political activities should not only be honorably restored but also elevated. Those who have become political players are too indebted to one side to maintain their independence.

It is also quite evident that the only province interested in this issue is Punjab and Nawaz League by means of being an ethnic party is leading the charge. It is quite reliably said that Baldy has been financing the lawyers movement even before the elections to keep them going and please all those who think that the lawyers are doing it out of the goodness of their heart and a just cause need to wake up and smell the coffee.

Nawaz Sharif is a true believer but not in the independence of judiciary. He believes that Iftikhar Chaudhry is the only man right now who can put Musharraf out of his office. Being a petty vindictive person, he just wants to get rid of the person who got rid of him. He is a lying scumbag who was caught lying to the whole nation, the whole world that he did not have any agreement to stay out of Pakistan and when it was proven he said the agreement was only for five years.

I believe we have bigger challenges right now that we need to focus on. Judiciary should be restored but selectively. The worse that can happen to Pakistan at this juncture is a Nawaz League government. I hope that day never comes.

Well, I may agree with you that there are other issues and we must move on – sadly this protracted tussle / lottay baazy is only making a mess out of the country. The delay has only numbed the people to an extent that people are sick of the issue – so they can hence get the nation to swallow even half the pill and they will celebrate – the 62-point bill is a prime example – all said its time to get over with this issue and move on, lingering it further bleeds us even more.

one more thing – if you want to eliminate the political judges then it should be fair to also include the PCO judges who have also in a way displayed political bias and motivation – why should you judge and weigh only the non-PCO judges ;)

yes its a never ending argument – But im with you, start the healing process

The Mother of all problems is the Judicial Crisis therefore it should be treated on top priority basis. If the Judiciary is restored people will have a sigh of relife because at the moment we can not even go to seek justice. I agree there are other Bigger problems in our Country but if Judicial Crisis is setteled our most of the problems will be automatically resolved because rule of Law can only asertain stability in the country.

It only has been made into one. These are the same judges who took oath under the last PCO. Who is to decide that one PCO is right and the other one wrong.

Right now the biggest problem is Nawaz Sharif’s single point agenda of having his “revenge” from Musharraf. Likewise the ex-CJ is to politicized now to be an effective Judge anymore. In all fairness he has destroyed his own case for restoration. Rest of the judges can and should be restored.
